I'm assuming you're talking about the New Folder icon with a star in the upper-right. If that's the case, I'm sorry to say that it works fine for me. A new folder is created. I have RC1 of SP2. Have you tried right-clicking and selecting New->Folder?

that doesn't work as well..

i can only create folders from normal desktop

also if there is a folder on desktop

say NEW Folder i can open it and make another folder in there

its just the root folder that i cannot create...

If worst comes to worst, u might want to uninstall SP2 and try it then, it may be an SP2 Bug, then you can report it and they can fix it (hopefully) :) .... I have never ran across that problem though, but that does seem extremely odd. Try that Mac, hopefully it will work for u.

i've integrated my sp2 to the cd.

also on that dialog I can right click and create a folder.

only that button doesn't work....

I am having the exact same problem. I am suspecting WXP SP2 because it killed Netscape so I uninstalled it. I am not sure if this problem began immediately after SP2 was installed but I suspect that it did and uninstalling SP2 failed to restore the previous condition. Another IE problem I am having which may be related to the above is that IE launches very slow(>20sec) when opening a html file by clicking it which is stored in a hard drive.
