NoelC Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Anyone else noticing that whenever Microsoft installs a Windows Update any more that a whole bunch of settings get returned to whatever Microsoft wants them to be? It's not even possible to protect files/folders/registry keys with permissions settings. I got KB3074686 and a couple of security updates last night and lo and behold things I had hidden in Explorer reappeared, a change I had made to prevent SearchUI.exe from running had been undone, and who knows what else. This trend of "You will set it Microsoft's way and you will LIKE it" is getting irritating! -Noel 1
jaclaz Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 OT (On Topic ) but OT (Off Topic ) I like this:http://www.infoworld.com/article/2952401/microsoft-windows/windows-10-gets-two-more-patches-kb-3074679-and-kb-3074686.htmlKB 3074686 is similarly labelled "Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems." The KB article says it's an improvement to the "Out of Box Experience" (I've always loved that phrase. I wonder if that's what Count Dracula encounters every evening) for Windows 10. jaclaz
