a good Win98SE gaming build?

was looking adround on a site and i finded this one:

only for like 80$ or so whit shipping, will this work for W98?

 

That machine should do all right!

Just use Xeno86's patched VCache.VxD, and it should be enough, since the machine has less than 1156 MiB of RAM.

Or use Usher's solution if you don't want any patched files (works OK, too).

hmm i see, from my undersanding 1 GB are MAX for win98 SE. but if there is a problem with that i can allways take out the 512 mb stick or both 256 mb stick and i get down to 512 mb of ram, whits are my thoughts before. i willl see what i will do^^

No. The max accessible RAM, unless one applies RLoew's RAM Limitation Patch, is 1156 MiB, as I said above. In practice, that means 1152 MiB, because that can be 1x 1024 KiB + 1x 128 KiB (or many other stick combinations). It's possible to run with more than 1156 MiB and without the RAM Limitation Patch, but then the OS will not be able to actually use any RAM above 1156 MiB. Read at least the thread about Usher's solution.
