submix8c Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 It is with deep sadness that I report that Robin Williams has died this morning from an apparent suicide by asphyxiation (pending final Coronor's report). I have read the official Marin County Coronor's preliminary report stating that he was officially declared deceased at 12:05PM Pacific Time. It has been reported that he was battling severe depression. At this point all I can say is DAYUM, I liked his stuff and will definitley see his last performance as Teddy Roosevelt in "Night At The Museum III". R.I.P., Mork. And Nanu, Nanu.
Guest Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) Couldn't believe it until I looked it up myself. Grew up on Mork & Mindy. He was too young--always young at heart. Edited August 12, 2014 by 5eraph
Monroe Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) I came across this article relating to Robin Williams and decided to add it to your post. It's about a gorilla who met R Williams in 2001 ... he made her laugh and they became friends ... when told of his death she became very sad. Gorilla 'Close to Tears' Following News of Robin Williams' Death 13 August 2014 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2723584/She-extremely-sad-Sign-language-gorilla-Koko-close-tears-following-news-Robin-Williams-death-13-years-video-captured-two-fast-friends.html 'She became extremely sad': Carers for the world's most intelligent gorilla claim she was 'close to tears' following news of Robin Williams' death - 13 years after video captured the two becoming fast friends. News of Robin Williams' untimely death hit particularly close to home for famed sign language gorilla Koko, who handlers say was moved nearly to tears by the somber mood shared by all at her Northern California home. Staff at the Gorilla Foundation were, like much of America, in mourning after hearing the news Monday. Williams visited their center in 2001 and quickly befriended Koko, making her laugh for the first time in six months. So when they explained to Koko, who is fluent in American Sign Language, that a dear friend of the center had died, she soon became sad and is pictured sitting hunched over with a quivering lip. Koko even signed the words 'cry lip' -- lip being her word for woman -- as she watched staff reacting to the news. 'She became extremely sad,' Koko's caretaker Dr. Penny Patterson wrote on Koko.org. Footage from the day Koko and Williams met is as uplifting as his suicide is tragic. ... more at the link with pictures and video of the meeting. I will just add ... too bad he didn't pay a return visit, maybe she might have cheered him up a little this time around. Who knows ...... Edited August 15, 2014 by monroe
