Datalore Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 Crap. My website looks and works fine in IE6, but as soon as I open it up in Firefox the thing falls apart. First off, some of the tables get misaligned. Not a big problem, I'll just delete some text to remove the whitespace. The biggest problem is that my Invision forums totally don't show up in Firefox. All I see is the header and the copyright. I remember running into this problem once back when I was making the site and removing a bunch of crap from the forum, but now it's only happening with Firefox. Any ideas?(BTW, no, I can't give you a link to the site. Long story short, its a community tech support site that I don't want advertised outside of my city.)
XtremeMaC Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 slightly modify it give us a preview does it work on opera?cause i mean who uses firefox(except datalore) ahah jji think invision board has its own forum if i'm not mistakenyes yes i'm right go at http://forums.invisionpower.com/i'm sure they know more about it
raduking Posted March 30, 2004 Posted March 30, 2004 did U use the w3c standards to code your pages ?cause Mozilla or Firefox is more standards compliant than IE 6...you should use those browsers as basis not IE...
Datalore Posted March 30, 2004 Author Posted March 30, 2004 Ok, it works better on Opera than it does on Firefox, but it still doesn't work that great (tables messed up). It's probably something I did to mess it up, because the official forums work fine on all three browsers. I just don't know what I did other than the style modifications. I don't even use Firefox or Opera, btw. Since my service is focused towards people who aren't that good with computers, I guess they won't even know what Firefox/Opera is
Datalore Posted March 30, 2004 Author Posted March 30, 2004 @RadukingI used Dreamweaver MX 2004 to make it, so whatever that follows is what it is. However, I am talking only about the forums page. Everything else works fine now. I obviously didn't code the forums.Sorry about 2 posts in a row, I didn't even see Radukings post.
I.am Posted March 30, 2004 Posted March 30, 2004 Coding Dreamweaver or any other WYSIWYG editor doesnt necessarily conform with standards. But you are having problems loading the forum up. Did you change any of the styles or css of the default files that came with invision board?Invision cant be integrated into a website like vbulletin/phpbb so I dont believe you were trying that.
Datalore Posted March 30, 2004 Author Posted March 30, 2004 They're just normal forums in their own /forums directory. As far as the css, I doubt I even touched it. The only style changes I made were removing a bunch of elements. For example, these are the kind of things I removed. I didn't touch any of the code "on my own" so to speak.
