Microsoft update not working!

Featured Replies

New install of windows 7 pro using retail DVD! Everything just fine untill I do an office install. Windows update does not show any updates for Office only Windows! In windows update settings the option: microsoft update give me updates for microsoft products IS missing! What am I doing wrong?

Also the option software notifications: show me detailed notifications is missing.

Sorry for the double post I ask one of the moderators to please delete the other one!

"Get Microsoft Update" is an option "somewhere" on the Windows Update page. It's an ActiveX that has to be installed.

I have NOT tried it yet (I have a "base" install of Win7 Pro) BUT I found this notation -

http://itknowledgeexchange.techtarget.com/network-administrator/windows-update-for-windows-and-other-products-from-microsoft-update/

http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-US and accept agreements needed to get Microsoft Update.

(note: above link is goobered - add the "-US" to the link to "get there")
