Flasche Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) Does anyone here know what things would cause this error.EDIT: I noticed that once in a blue moon it would stat a missing dll, but im having trouble trying to get that message to reappear. Edited February 18, 2014 by Flasche
jumper Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 VLC is hiding the actual error which could be almost anything. Try running VLC within a debugger such as FineSSE to see the raw Exception errors.
Flasche Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) VLC is hiding the actual error which could be almost anything. Try running VLC within a debugger such as FineSSE to see the raw Exception errors.Well this is great in many ways since I just started to learn about reverse engineering with this blog http://thelegendofrandom.com/blog/sample-page . I've just started to learn about ollydbg but I'll give FineSSE a shot too. I dragged vlc over FineSSE (to open it) and it gave me this error. Since I haven't even started with reverse engineering a program can you tell me what this error meansEDIT: OT I also noticed that FineSSE will give me this message if I try to open another program (like CCleaner) could this message be cause because I'm opening a desktop shortcut? jumper Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Please try "-v -a6000" ala post #5 or create a batch file to do the same.
