Micropocalypse Posted September 22, 2001 Posted September 22, 2001 Odd request, I doubt anyone will have an answer to it, but has anyone tryed to put the hot plugable scsi aray form a old compaq proliant (486 type) on a adaptec aha-294x pci scsi controler. the spin up, then they spin up again. (I bet nobody can answer this one)

gruffpuppy Posted November 3, 2001 Posted November 3, 2001 Not to bring up an old question but. . .are/were you using the SCSI card from the Compaq or just any old SCSI card?A lot of the the SCSI adapters on Compaqs would have step one of the Raid controler burned into a chip on the card.IBM also used custom EPROMS
