is there a software for remote dl?

Hi there

to out there who knows and who's about to know the pain I suffer from bandwidth limit in my school.

is there a software for remote dl?

here's my problem.

in my univ. we have a **** 1.5weekly download bandwidth.

we're allowed to go over that limit 3 times. after that they decrease your i/o to 56k. and everyone who is limited to 56 shares that bandwidth so its frigging slow.

its still connected to 10mbit network. well yea i'm over the limit 3 times :cry:

now there are comp labs where i can use the internet and have no limit. but it sucks to go there and not be able to do anything (except stare at the screen and wait for the dl to complete) because once i lock the computer because of idle times it logs me out in 5min.

there are 2 networked drives I can reach from my computer. (they require password, also the lab computers require a password)

along with these information is there an application that'll remotely allow me to dl stuff to networked drives?

note. regedit is disabled but I can add/query/delete from cmd lines by using reg command.

someone pls tell me there is a solution. I'm going nuts.!

I tried to get dsl, but there is a problem with the phone lines. the signal is said to reach the building but is not reaching my room. (some stupid tech came all the way to tell me that, without checking what the problem was on my side, he said the learned it from server side.!, i dunno why the heck they sent the tech )

I couldn't install any vnc stuff bc it doesn't let u add services bc of registry etc.

well i think when i lock it moving the mouse doesn't work

here's what i've been doing.. (well started 2 days ago)

i start the dl's

open an ie saying "do not use this comp" type of thing.just to be sure i put a link that opens the same page.

i use a mouse clicker and mover and i set it to click that link every 10 sec. so mouse moves and opens a page.

I also closed explorer.exe when i move away from the computer leaving the internet explorer bar open. so that when someone comes and "what the hell, i'm using this comp, i'll log him out" even if he closes the ie. he'll see no screen. and if not a advanced user, won't be able to log me off.

it works but i dunno. they problem is someone logs me out is

my downloads go into the temp folder created under my name. temp folder gets deleted after log off i believe other than that I don't have access to any part of c drive. only read permission. network drives are 250mb max. etc...

i'll be using this method .. but if someone comes up with an idea pls post !!
