zup fellow msn'ers...

There's a pc running outlook2k and their pst file is 1.13gigs worth of emails. Now outlook freezes when accessing it.

Is there an utility out there in which:

A.> I can view the emails withing the PST file so i can delete the emails they dont want

B.> I can compact the PST file and be able to open it in outlook

C.> ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!! :)

Appreciate the help.

I believe the third solution is the more accurate for your problem :

if you can't launch Outlook 2000 (hangs up), start at point 2. make 3. and 1. then continue 4. til 12.

I dont think the problem is the size of the pst...maybe its corrupted?

Im saying this cause i've seen people with their pst going around 4/5 gb, a little slow, but it didnt hang up

well if u have access to that .pst file u can right click on the main folder in outlook go to properties and u should see the compact button

holy crap man make more .pst files at least put them into archive. i export some of the mails that i have that take up too much space to folders. since they are .msg(i think its like that forgot it) i can just open them by double clicking...

or delete the unneccesary mails. wow man how many mails would make 4 gigs thats f'ed up.

lol yes thats pretty much insane, but they dont know sh** about computers, and always like to see the list of the contacts with ALL e-mails there for future refence *sighs*...and what is really F*CKED UP is to try to explain why is it slow to them
