Bilou_Gateux Posted March 15, 2004 Posted March 15, 2004 Google search : outlook pst compactOL2000: (CW) Compacting Outlook PST and OST Fileshttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...B;en-us;196990&Compact and Fix Outlook's Information Fileshttp://www.techtv.com/callforhelp/howto/ju...3409489,00.htmlManaging the Outlook PST Filehttp://www.zdnetindia.com/help/specials/of...ries/17533.htmlI believe the third solution is the more accurate for your problem :if you can't launch Outlook 2000 (hangs up), start at point 2. make 3. and 1. then continue 4. til 12.
ceez Posted March 15, 2004 Author Posted March 15, 2004 Bilou_Gateux thkz.... why didnt i think of that one! I will try all of those options.thkz!
IceBlackIce Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 I dont think the problem is the size of the pst...maybe its corrupted?Im saying this cause i've seen people with their pst going around 4/5 gb, a little slow, but it didnt hang up
XtremeMaC Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 well if u have access to that .pst file u can right click on the main folder in outlook go to properties and u should see the compact buttonholy crap man make more .pst files at least put them into archive. i export some of the mails that i have that take up too much space to folders. since they are .msg(i think its like that forgot it) i can just open them by double clicking...or delete the unneccesary mails. wow man how many mails would make 4 gigs thats f'ed up.
IceBlackIce Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 lol yes thats pretty much insane, but they dont know sh** about computers, and always like to see the list of the contacts with ALL e-mails there for future refence *sighs*...and what is really F*CKED UP is to try to explain why is it slow to them
