How to know that usb 3 speed is working?

My laptops have intel i5 & i7 cpus, usb 3 ports w/ drivers installed,

ssds for the main internal OS drives,

and SATA III for accessory drives inside the laptops.

I use TeraCopy as default file copy app.

When I plugin an external SATA hdd that's inside a usb 3 enclosure, into a usb 3 port and copy files to/from the interal drives,

TeraCopy does give an estimated transfer speed in the title bar - which varies from 20-something to 90-something MB/s.

I'm aware that file/folder types affect the transfer speeds, but my overall question is --

how can I determine for sure that transfer is occurring by means of the usb 3 standard?

is there some app or Sysinternals utility that would indicate this?

Or, is it a default logical inference that if the speed is showing to exceed "xxxx" MB/s,

then that speed is automatically exceeding the usb 2 spec, and therefore means that usb 3 is functional ??

Rule of the thumb.

Don't expect anything higher than 30/40 Mb/s on USB 2.0.

Anything faster is USB 3.0.

Of course the "estimated transfer speed" is "estimated", however.

Thanks Jaclaz, yes by the speeds that at least some of the transfers show, I know I'm hitting the usb.3 mark ~
