ihateusernames Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 These programs are missing from win7. Typical MS, adding multiple GB of stuff that has no discernable purpose and taking out 200KB of programs that were actually useful I was delighted to find that sndrec32.exe from win98 works (has to be from 98, none from NT/2K/XP will work). Mixer wouldn't work right though.Any alternative for adjusting the volume using keyboard shortcuts?
vinifera Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 (edited) sndvol is present on my 7 produnno what was so better with *32they are both mixers...beside sound graphic manufacturer driver gives so much than windows standard crapso why use it Edited January 29, 2013 by vinifera
ihateusernames Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Oh they went back to calling it just sndvol huh? This one is kind of rubbish, since it can't be minimized and there is no left-right balance control but it is better than nothing
vinifera Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 yes, but big plus is that you can control sound per application and not just global
Formfiller Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) There's also a replacement for sndrec32: %SystemRoot%\system32\SoundRecorder.exeIt's pretty barebones though. It doesn't seem to have a hardcoded duration limit for records, but pretty much all the other functions of the old recorder are gone (effects etc.) Edited February 21, 2013 by Formfiller
