cableghost
Not sure if this is a XP isue or not.Whenever I turn up the computer volume (playing MP3, music CD, etc.), I get background noise- its like interference from my computer. This happens through desktop speakers or Headset connected directly to CDROM.Any thoughts on this?-------------Thanks,Scott

FthrJACK
move the sound card to another pci slot away from graphics cards and other cards you have (specially ones with fans on) if at all possible, see if that helps

cableghost
sound card was between graphics card and network ... I moved sound card 3 slots from other pci cards and I do get a dramatic decrease in the background noise, though not completely. Thanks guys!!!---------------------ScottRegarding the Winamp question ... this was occuring no matter what I was using, even in the case of no music, if I turned up speakers, there was background noise, for which now is ok.
