pichorra Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 (edited) Heya Guys. I'm trying to get Kernel Streaming in foobar2000 with Windows 98. I've already got the WDM for mine AWE64 Standard Edition drivers installed, But foobar can't detect a kernel streaming device. Do anyone know a player with low-cpu usage that supports KernelStreaming? (i want KS mainly due the low-cpu usage ) Edited February 8, 2012 by pichorra
GrofLuigi Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Winamp 2.XX with Kernel Streaming plugin. I use it to this day on XP, so I think it should work fine on 9X.GL
loblo Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (i want KS mainly due the low-cpu usage )The DirectSound output plugin uses a bit less cpu than the KS ones. Advantage of KS (or ASIO) lies in their low latency not their low cpu use.
TmEE Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 My Yamaha's VxD drivers provide lower latency than ASIO and no CPU use figures to play sound. Old stuff is sometimes lovely.
