UltimateSilence Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) Is there a way to make this house look more like a castle? I really need some ideas.Apologies in advance if this is not appropriate discussion. Edited July 4, 2012 by UltimateSilence
Guest Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Add towers and parapets. Dig a moat around it. Maybe get yourself a French taunter.

UltimateSilence Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) I was kind of hoping for a modernist gothic expression.Couldn't I put flags on the peaks or something? Need ideas. Edited July 4, 2012 by UltimateSilence
Guest Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 More seriously, you need stonework. If you can afford it, replace some of your siding with stone, at least in front. The entry sidewalk and fence could be cobblestone as well.

bphlpt Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 If you're REALLY GOOD with paint, I'm NOT, you could almost make it look like stonework, at least from afar. For adding walls, like around the garden you mentioned, yes you could use brick, then stucco over the brick, then again paint to look like stonework. You could also build out rounded extensions in front of the two gables in the front to make them look more "tower" shaped. You're right that if you squint at it just right it does kind of have a castle kind of look to it, especially from a distance.Cheers and Regards
