esters
Hi, I'm running Windows XP Home SP3 and i've been trying to use 'runas' feature (i've been running it successfuly on my other box which has Windows XP Professional) so far i've tried to change the Administrator account password, so far without luck, below are the logs for the command and the Administrator account. Could it be that i have to change something in group policy settings ? http://pastebin.com/2iUQLRji Edited December 21, 2011 by esters
GrofLuigi
Don't know about changing password, but you usually can't run Administrator account unless in safe mode. That's why it's called XP Home.GL
Ponch
Can't you "rus as..." the account that was created at install and which by design has administrative rights? Or is that the original problem (as it possibly has a blank password) you tried to workaround using "administrator"? esters
I'll mark this as solved, turns out you were right GrofLuigi, i can't user the built in "Administrator" account with the runas command, i created a separate account with user privileges, logged in and successfully executed a command with the 'runas'
