go98 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I did a lot of photo editing with mspaint (win 98) about 10 years ago. I noticed that when I did rezising of photos in xp, the quality was not as good as with win 98 (mostly shrinking 50%). So I made sure to never use xp mspaint for this.Maybe xp mspaint is better in some other ways, but I prefer win 98 mspaint because of this "discovery"...
Fredledingue Posted March 5, 2012 Author Posted March 5, 2012 Maybe it's simply due to the JPG compression level the of the new image which is different in w98 and XP?
go98 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Maybe it's simply due to the JPG compression level the of the new image which is different in w98 and XP?Nope, I always did this on bitmap-format (.bmp).
M()zart Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 As I know, Windows 98 mspaint saves only BMP, not JPG.
Joseph_sw Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 but theres filters for win9x mspaint to allow it saving as .jpgthats probably included during office installation.
PROBLEMCHYLD Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 These files work. I tried to get them to run without KernelEx, but I was unsuccessful MSXML4.DLL 4.30.2117.0 MSXML 4.0 SP3MSXML4R.DLL 4.30.2100.0 MSXML 4.0 SP3MSXML6.DLL 6.20.2502.0 MSXML 6.0 SP2MSXML6R.DLL 6.0.3883.0 MSXML 6.0 SP2
