At work, IE8 on all machines first identifies the site, then the certifying authority, on reaching a secure page, like this:

Now, at home, all my IE8 does is to show the padlock, like this:

What setting is it I'm missing that causes IE8 to identifies the site and then the certifying authority?

Please advise.

Not sure that an IE tweak, it might be a different certificate use (the external acces might be filtered and thus not connecting directly to the server, most likely using forefront or isa is the webmail is exchange based). I found this, it might you as it is explaining the difference evssl certificate and ssl.

I guess you've just hit jackpot, allen2!

Thanks a lot, you do rock! :thumbup

Your reply put me in the right track and then I found this info:

Internet Explorer 8 with Windows XP – SmartFilter

For Windows XP users using IE8 as their browser, there is a little known requirement for the green bar to appear:

The SmartScreen Filter feature in IE8 must be enabled (Tools -> Options -> Advanced)

My home IE8 now displays EV SSL as it should. yahoo.gif
