Recently My Laptop keyboard damaged by water and it goes crazy, for example: I didn't do anything, itself will type something like WWWWWWWWWWWWWWzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz2222222222222222222222222222222244444444444444444444, and spam F1 to pop up help menussss.

So, I want to disable my main keyboard and use my USB external keyboard as main keyboard.

I found DevCon which is very promising program to make this happen.

I tried to disable my keyboard in devcon, and the result is like this:

C:\i386>devcon disable ACPI\PNP0303

ACPI\PNP0303\4&FF861E6&0 : Disable failed

No devices disabled.

C:\i386>devcon disable ACPI\PNP0303

ACPI\PNP0303\4&FF861E6&0 : Disable failed

No devices disabled.

C:\i386>devcon disable ACPI\PNP0303

ACPI\PNP0303\4&FF861E6&0 : Disable failed

No devices disabled.

C:\i386>devcon disable ACPI\PNP0303

ACPI\PNP0303\4&FF861E6&0 : Disable failed

No devices disabled.

C:\i386>devcon disable ACPI\PNP0303

ACPI\PNP0303\4&FF861E6&0 : Disable failed

No devices disabled.

Yah, I tried many times(spam), to make sure that I'm stuck....a little help will be nice...

If you know the solution please help me out, Thank you.

look up a repair manual on your laptop (google is your friend for this)

From there lift your keyboard up and disconnect the keyboard ribbon.

I see your U.S. based?

Ebay is a wonderfull place to find replacements.

My laptop's user manual is very hard to find, I tried google it and found 1 from ftp site, I tried to get it from the FTP, and result error.

I want to see how far this so-called Devcon can do, There're so many successful people doing devcon on 32bit version, but few in 64bit, or WIN7. but why doesn't work in my WinXP32bit? that's very strange.

P.S.: I'm from Indonesia, but now living in CA, as a student. My laptop brought from Indonesia

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Kbdclass\Parameters]
"AllowDisable"=dword:1

MAYBE it will work.

I guess your help is very advanced, Thank you before. but, before I add this code, I want to ask, What code is this? New Key? New string? or New Binary? I just need a little more clarification.

New dword in registry (regedit.exe).

Or, copy the text in the box (starting with REGEDIT4) , paste it to new blank txt document in notepad, save, change extension to *.reg and double click to merge it to the registry. Reboot the computer and then try disabling the keyboard.

This notebook is a rebranded whitebook model. From what I can tell it is an Inventec w14, however the shell design looks to be an HP. I have seen this notebook before but I can't remember what it is.

So BenQ S41, Acer Aspire 9800, Inventec W14, zepto 6214 are the same. But they have different shells.

here is a pic for reference:

S41 and S42 use the same shells.

I give up trying to find the manual for you! But there are only so many ways to get the keyboard out. Try looking at this:

http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/08/30/removing-replacing-laptop-keyboard/

Look for buttons too, some you just need to press a couple of clips to get it out.

the link from http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/08/30/removing-replacing-laptop-keyboard/ has different shell, I couldn't find any clip...-_-

as you can see from this image http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/2023/laptopopenij1.jpg , there is 2 small button on there, 1 is maybe a button for shooting photo. 1 more is I dunno, when I press it, it shutdown my laptop -_-...and 1 more as you can see the long one in the middle, it does looks like a clip but it made of rubber, also I dunno why it's existed. anyway, thx for you reply. :)
