Bad boy Warrior Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I have two wireless routers. I dont get a decent signal from the main router when going to the top floor and was considering purchasing a wireless signal booster, but before going down this path, could i use two wireless routers with one connection (i.e. have one router downstairs and other on the top floor)? Thanks
Tripredacus Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 This is something I have yet to test out, since I am in the same boat as you. Seeing how I'm prepping for a move, I haven't the time for it. I did a little bit of reading, but the other router you need to look up how to use it as an Access Point, or as a bridge. So your main router that is connected to your internet would end up being your DHCP and work like a regular router. That was my idea at least. You may want to look into custom firmware like Tomato or DD-WRT in case those types of options are not present on the stock firmware. Anyways, its a bunch of research on your router models.
