allen2 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 If your original need is a mass storage driver injection then you look at Driverinjection gui.
jaclaz Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) ...or MSSTMake:http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showtopic=22313I may be wrong of course, but "injecting into already running" is usually caled "installing". You know, like:jaclaz Edited June 13, 2011 by jaclaz
sunil21 Posted June 13, 2011 Author Posted June 13, 2011 Thank you for all the replies, it is helpful.i am asking since, i lost cd for hp 8100 computerand i am using another xp cd to install.it has pdf documentation files regarding ahci installation and at one stage it is said to run msdinst.exe to inject ahci driver. but no mention of where to find this program.i can manage Windows 7 AIK & windows 7 OPK, if that will do.
allen2 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Msdinst.exe is part of windows XP OPK since SP2 (i think) and as such isn't freely redistributable. It is one way to inject mass storage drivers but there are others like the one i posted.
jaclaz Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 at one stage it is said to run msdinst.exe to inject ahci driver. but no mention of where to find this program.MSDINST is NOT available to the "public".It is inside the OPK for XP (SP3) here:http://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/downloads/pages/opks.aspxWindows XP Service Pack 3 OPKhttp://www.microsoft.com/oem/en/downloads/Pages/windows_xp_sp3_opk.aspxIt is "reserved to OEM's.With MS new policies you may be able to register yourself as OEM, but really cannot say.But as said we have alternatives tools for it, do check the whole idea of "Offline Sysprep":http://www.911cd.net/forums//index.php?showforum=43though I don't think it is really what you need/want, seemingly all you need is to have the SATA/AHCI driver slipstreamed to your install CD, which is an entirely different thing. What is your goal (as opposed to HOW you think you can reach it)? Create a "dedicated" install CD for that HP 8100.Creata a "dedicated" sysprepped image for that HP 8100.Something else.
