Suggestions Running DOS on WinME PC?

Am asking for comments specifically about an old laptop with 64MB RAM and WinME.

Would like to run some DOS educational software on it.

Is it best to reboot to DOS or just run DOS from within WinME? If there is little or no difference it would seem to be a lot easier and less time consuming not to have to reboot each time change from WinME to DOS.

Hope someone else has actually had to change from Windows to DOS and has some preferences.
