Guest Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I got my new rig the other days and noticed when running CPU-Z that the processor is running at 1598.0 MHz instead of it's rated 2.8GHz. If I start a program that needs CPU it jumps up to 2996.3 MHz.Is this normal? Sp0iLedBrAt Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 It used to be called Intel SpeedStep Technology, the possibility to reduce frequency and save energy (and battery on notebooks). I don't see why not.
