grabben Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Well obviously beacuse its in your recoverypartition..It does reinstall windows to factory.. You probably have a message telling you to press an Function key during bios or an HP software to create recoverydvd.
Tripredacus Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 You can initiate a recovery from Windows, if you are having trouble booting into it, by going to Backup and Recovery and choosing Advanced Recovery options in Control Panel. Base.wim is a non-standard image name for use in system recovery, which means that there is an underlying software application that you'll want to figure out before just applying that WIM to your PC. It is possible that WIM is actually a WinPE and not an OS.
