winxp has a setting in mouse and keyboards setting to specify the number of lines you like to move up or down when you scroll your mouse once, respectively

I want to specify another value for MS Office (Word) only and maybe other programs like pdf reader

is it possible?

Have you tried to install the mouse software for you mouse?

my os version is winxp sp3

unfortunately there is no software that accompanies my mouse

is there a mouse driver that can do this??

Oh I see what you are saying. You need to be able to set profiles for mouse settings, and then some way to trigger them. I want to say an "OnFocus" type thing for the mouse controls but that may be taxing for the system... A way to toggle that would be best.
