Ponch Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 running defrag now and see what happens...Moving files around on a suspected defective drive is not the best of ideas. Did you let the checks run until the end ?When you run it manually, does it show any bad sectors in final report ?Search for info about "dirty bit". Here for instance.
bookie32 Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 Hi Ponch!OK! the hard drive is a samsung and I have run extensive tests on the drive and no problems detected. I ran the fsutil query C: and it is coming up dirty, but I can't seem to clean it?bookie32
bookie32 Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 Hi again!Well, I have sorted it. I ran:CHKDSK C: /R from a repair cd and it cleaned it up and I could then remove the files in the Recycle bindel C:\RECYCLED\?*.*)Now things are back to normal bookie32
