Drives not being found by win7 installer

Featured Replies

I previously had a raid array, and now installing fresh on one of these drives. I have changed the the configuration from RAID back to IDE in the bios, but the installer is not finding the drive, yet i can see the drive in the bios on sata port 1.

I know i had to load drivers for sata-raid, but surely not for one disk?

The drive itself may still be set to RAID. You haven't posted a lot of information about your previous RAID configuration, such as type or controller. If you do not need the data on the drive, you can write zeroes to it, although a low-level format may be able to remove the RAID flag as well.

Clean the hard disk.

Press shift F10, run diskpart, list disk, select disk N, clean.

Boot win7 media again.
