Swapping logic baords

HI guys, I have the following drives:

Firmware: SD15 (not sure updated to what now. maybe the latest one)

The latter is displaying signs of the BSY error, no click sound, never had shock. I've brought it into Seagate where the guy successfully updated the firmware and I was able to boot from it again....halfway. Then it was undetectable again. I'm thinking of swapping the logic boards (that's what they do at data recovery centers and charge people $1000 for?) with a similar/identical drive which I bought at the same time. Can anyone tell me if this is safe? The data is important enough to not send for RMA, but not important enough to warrant professional services.

1. I have exactly the same HDD in my other computer. Will a PCB swap work?

No. Although that used to work on some older models, in newer HDD's like the Seagate 7200.11, the PCB is specific to the drive and you risk frying both if you try that.
