Hi,

I have Office 2007 -- Excel 2007.

I brought up one of my Excel docs and I must have clicked on something because there is now a veritcal area on the left. The top has the numbers 1,2,3 and 4. There is also some sliding scales with "+" and "-" buttons. These scales seem to suppress certain lines on the spreadsheet.

I have no idea what this is called so I could find out how to get rid of this thing via "help".

So -- how do you get rid of this thing ?

You created an "outline structure".

Simply select the whole sheet (top left "square" beween "1" and "A") and "promote" or "ungroup" everything until you have no more a structure.

Data->Group Outline
