Question regarding Internet Explorer an Firefox plug-ins

Featured Replies

Hi to all. I have a small question regarding IE and Firefox. We use Flash Player plug-in from Adobe to view Flash based content in IE and Firefox. But Adobe AIR and Adobe Shockwave Player are also plug-ins for IE and Firefox. What are the exact uses of both Adobe Air and Adobe Shockwave Player in relation to IE and Firefox. The installation of both Adobe AIR and Adobe Shockwave Player is necessary for smooth viewing of websites. Please let me know.

Thanks.

Macromedia Shockwave was the precursor to Flash back in the olden days. It was originally made so that people could make animated movies in Macromedia Director and publish them to a web page. Flash was an upgrade that allowed greater user interactivity, especially with ActionScript. I'm not too sure what Adobe Air is tho.
