Joined yesterday to post a query - just hoping it gets read

I do recognise the importance of Microsoft's contribution to computing through its software, but I do hope other contenders and the Open Source community find better solutions.

I'm on this forum because I want to use the legacy systems on my family of computers, so I can show my son who is now 8, the progression of computing development.

There must be something "wrong" with the post counter, you are still at 1. (as it was yesterday, that's why I posted asking, a new user with one post saying it was his second post is "strange" )
