Hi all,

i installed Win7 HP 32 bit on my test machine and customized it.

The i used

sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown

to prepare it for deployment.

I used

imagex /capture d:\ e:\install.wim “MyOS”

to capture it to my custom install.wim

And then I took a normal Win7 DVD and replaced the install.wim with my created install.wim

Everything works fine so far, i can install this customized win7 just fine

But here comes the point where i need help:

The normal win7 install.wim files contain several editions in subdirs (1,2,3,4...) and an xml file which discribes the editions

My custom WIM file only has my custom win7 in it, and it is in the root of the wim and not in a subdir called 1 and there is no xml file.

This makes it impossible to add this edition to an existing WIM file (so i can create a DVD which includes the normal and also my custom Win7 version)

I already added the x64 editions to my x86 dvd with

imagex.exe" /export "c:\AIO\WIMs\Windows_7x64_ULT.wim" 1 "c:\AIO\DVD\sources\install.wim" "Windows 7 HOMEBASIC (x64)"

but i can not do this with my custom install.wim due to the fact that the wim does not contain an xml description...

Also (and this is even worse) i can not open this wim in WAIK to create an unattended setup.

Can anyone help me and explain what i did wrong or how i need to do it to get wht i want (a custom win7 dvd with all normal editions and with also my custom editions included).

Well seems i did not give enough info, or this problem is too complicated...

Is there anything i can add that would help in solving this?

use gimagex its will make it more easy and can fix same problems

well, i know gimagex, bit it is just the gui for imagex...so how can this help?
