Mim0 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I have a problem with integrating hotfix kb2183461, is there any solution? How do you identified that it was not integrated correctly?
grzegorzo Posted August 29, 2010 Author Posted August 29, 2010 The matter is simple, when you install Windows, this update is still reported to download.
Mim0 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 As far as I remember right, I got no probs with this update. I took all - WMP11/RDC7/MSXML4/IE8 - from my list (see signature) but w/o WU/MU. But which updates do you use?Probably a problem like this klick (read also the following postings from Acheron)Mimo

Mim0 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I run my file-checker against this list and... wow... so many obsolete updates, also regarding IE8 (see log-file):I suggest to use the file-checker as long as the output tells you that all is OK.My log-file is just an example, because I don't know the goal of your HFSLIP-process. Please enter YOUR options in the file-checker-INI which will be created at the first run.You get this tool from my site (see signature).Mimohfslipfc-LOG.zip
grzegorzo Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Yes I do, heartfelt thanks for your help PS.In view of the fact that not all can set an option, I would ask to place your ini file, I'll add that I HFCABS directory i have SWFLASH.CAB and wbemoc.cab ,also downloaded WindowsXP-KB976323-x86-PLK.exe and WindowsXP-KB969084-x86-PLK.exe,the moment I can not just download the reg file - connection problems, try later,of course I removed all unnecessary and unknown hotfix in accordance with your advice Edited August 31, 2010 by grzegorzo

Mim0 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 PS.In view of the fact that not all can set an option, I would ask to place your ini file...sure, I can upload my hfslipfc.ini this evening!... the moment I can not just download the reg file...which reg-file?I still have a small question, even though the directory HFCABS I have these files --- MUAuth.cab,MuCatalogWebControl.cab,muweb_site.cab ,Windows always gets some update component WU,what to do ?For these file - sorry - but I cannot help you. I don't use them. When I started to create my update-list I found these updates on this XP-List and I just took them (also to the file-checker). When I test a Windows-XP-installation (in a VM after running HFSLIP) I always go to the WU-site (or MU-site) and download the required components which a required for using these update-sites. When I install Windows XP on a real machine, I don't use automatic updates. That's why I don't integrate these MU/WU-files. Sorry.Mimo
grzegorzo Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 Ok, I understand, what the problem with downloading, I wanted to WindowsXP-KB968389-x86.reg,in your log it was written that it is missing but I've downloaded and added to the directory HFSVCPACK,the rest drove them and everything is ok, tested on VM,I asked about the ini file, because I need it in the future to check the unnecessary amendments, the script is great, thanks to him I got rid of a lot of garbage, once again Thank you.
Mim0 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Ok, I understand, what the problem with downloading, I wanted to WindowsXP-KB968389-x86.reg,in your log it was written that it is missing but I've downloaded and added to the directory HFSVCPACKOK, you got the reg-fileI asked about the ini file, because I need it in the future to check the unnecessary amendments, the script is great, thanks to him I got rid of a lot of garbage, once again Thank you.I attached the INI which I use for checking the updates (this is NOT the INI I used yesterday for checking your update-list - I don't have the INI anymore - if I remember right, it was the default-INI which will be created by the file-checker).But if you use my ini PLEASE read the ini and ...1. confirm that all my settings are correct for you (WMP, IE, ... OPTIONAL, ADVISORIES, HOTFIXES...). Otherwise change it.2. I've added some files to the WIN-section (starting with "+WIN"). I've added files here which are not checked by default - clean up this section. This section is not really necessary, just for me to ensure that I have it all.3. I've added some files to the IGNORE-section (starting with "+IGNORE"). These are updates I don't want to have (they will not be listed as missing) - clean up this section. This section is not really necessary, but I don't want to see some missing updates again and again...Mimohfslipfc.ini
