Error after Update to 8.0.3

Recommended Posts

SirHaschke, can you give us at least a brief translation into English, please? Also, please attach your config.js file. When do these errors occur - when you open WPI or later? Did you copy over your config, useroptions and windowsoptions file? I also think you need to not copy your themes folder. Did you do this?

*** You will be alerted that your config file is too old. You will need

to save your Config file first, then your Options file, IN THAT ORDER,

to update them.

Enjoy, John.

Sorry,this is an german OS.

I don't overwrite my useroptions.js, windowoptions.js and config.js.

The error occurs if i start the autorun.exe from the tool section of the wpi page.

If i start wpi.exe it works fine.

And yes i copy the themes folder.

See you that something is wrong?

SirHaschke, you must start WPI from the WPI.exe. Did you do the saving of the config and the options files as above? I was surprised that your config file still says // WPI Config 7.7.0+ at the top. It should say // WPI Config 8.0.0+, at least mine does. Some, if not all, of the themes have changed and you may need to pick up the latest from the WPI 8.0.3 DL. Enjoy, John.

OK.

I saved the files and now it's correct.

// WPI Config 8.0.0+

//

// User defined options

//

Exist there an autorun.exe to start wpi or is this tool too old?

I test it on monday andpost the result......

SirHaschke, I don't know where you are finding the autorun.exe. None of the copies of WPI I have on hand (going back to 7.6.0) have one. I assume it is very old and has been removed some time ago. You should start with the DLed latest WPI, copy your config, useroptions, windowsoptions and networkoptions (new to 8.0.0). You may need to sort through the themes, but they do change and you may need to upgrade. I cannot answer where the autorun.exe went (I never used it). Sounds like you are good to go. Also notice that the code to start the install phase of WPI has changed to call WPI.exe and not WPI.hta. Please see the DLs on the release page above. Enjoy, John.

OK.

Now it works.

I install Windows XP silent and after that i must start the wpi.exe manually.

WPI should start automatically and install my software.

How can i reach that?

Is it possible when i insert the DVD that WPI starts automatically?

SirHaschke, WPI will not start automatically when the DVD is inserted. Please see my last post about the change to WPI.exe from WPI.hta. Please go to the release Sticky thread for 8.0.3 and make sure you have latest copy of the $OEM$ folder for the OS you are running. Enjoy, John.
