alexweber Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I was once told there was a way to alter the registry on Windows 2000 Advanced Server so that it would show up to other machines on a LAN as Win200 workstation... anyone know of this? Thanks in advance...
GrofLuigi Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I'm not familiar with that RegHack, but I suspect it would have to do something with this:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ProductOptions]"ProductType"="???""ProductSuite"=hex(???):???You will need to look up the ???s at a real Workstation. That's because it is one of the paths allowed to be read remotely, defined in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurePipeServers\winreg\AllowedExactPathsI don't guarantee horrible things won't happen if you edit this at will.
