I was once told there was a way to alter the registry on Windows 2000 Advanced Server so that it would show up to other machines on a LAN as Win200 workstation... anyone know of this? Thanks in advance...

I'm not familiar with that RegHack, but I suspect it would have to do something with this:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ProductOptions]
"ProductType"="???"
"ProductSuite"=hex(???):???

You will need to look up the ???s at a real Workstation.

That's because it is one of the paths allowed to be read remotely, defined in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurePipeServers\winreg\AllowedExactPaths

I don't guarantee horrible things won't happen if you edit this at will. :(

ProductOptions (These keys contain information used only by the system and should not be edited by users. Because these entries should be maintained only by the system, they are not described in these files.)
