WinSetupFromUSB Error HELP

Featured Replies

Hello I am using the latest version of WinSetupFromUSB 0.2.3 and everything goes fine during the installation from my USB stick that I formated at fat 16 and it is a 2GB USB drive but in the end of the windows installation I get an error stating that Windows cannot not find D:/$OEM$\RunOnceExCU or something close to that.

I looked in the usb drive and noticed that the OEM folder is not in the root of the USB stick so I went into the folder D:\$WIN_NT$.~LS\ where the OEM folder is in and made a copy of it and put it in the root of the USB drive where windows was looking for it so I can try to trick windows. Is this OK also even when I got the error I just clicked ok and it booted right into windows. I guess I would like to know what is RunOnceExCU.exe and does it matter that I got that error? Will the system be missing somehthing and is there a way to avoid this error?

This seems to be some custom script, you'd need to figure out what it does and how can be adjusted.

What are contents of the $OEM$ folder, besides RunOnceExCU.exe, if that's the file name?

BTW latest version is 1.0 beta6, although beta, it's fairly usable ;)
