hanqianliong Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Dear all,I'm using NLite 1.4.9.1, and i tried to create ISO Windows XP SP2 with additional SATA Driver, but after processing the files, there was no next step for burning the ISO, i've searched on my hard drive, there wasn't any ISO file. Can anyone help me with this problem ?Thank you in advance.
GrofLuigi Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 First, you need to select the task Create a bootable ISO here (at the start of working with nLite):That should lead you to this screen after the end of processing:You notice the Make ISO button? It will ask you for a file name and path of the ISO file to be created.(These images are from the official guide, which is a bit dated. Now there are are many more options there.GL
nigh Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I'm having a similar problem to hanqianliong, I've selected 'create a bootable ISO' in the start screen then I get as far as picture #38 in Sp0iLedBrAt's link, select next & nLite closes. Previously I got as far as picture #39 & selected 'burn direct' but again nothing happened.Am I missing some other step?
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Don't click next, click Create ISO in the middle-right part of the screen. Again, refer to pic #39 in my previous post.Enjoy

Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 (edited) That can only happen if you haven't chosen the option to Create a Bootable ISO at the very beginning of nLite procedure, visible in pic #4 of the same photo guide. Look at the bottom Edited March 11, 2010 by Sp0iLedBrAt

Thank you.
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 @nigh, the solution I offered was for hanqialiong. As for you... according to the pic you posted, I'm hoping you didn't do the whole nLite procedure on the same CD source again for the second time, because that will mess up A LOT of things with the CD. After you do your tests, always start fresh. So, do this: If you have a source on the PC that hasn't been touched, open nLite, load any Last Session.ini and choose only Create a Bootable ISO. When the screen opens, take your time to look around all the options it offers.Report back

I'm preparing a slipstream for my desktop PC by using my laptop. I've copied the XP disk, XP SP3 file & driver files to separate folders on the laptop and I'm pointing nLite to those folders. Are you saying I should not use these source files a 2nd time?
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Yes, once the files from the XP CD have been run once with nLite, you shouldn't use nLite on them again. A fresh source is considered a new copy of the XP CD on the HDD. You have to copy the files from the CD again on your HDD and work on them. The good thing is that your steps are written down in Last Session.ini, so you don't have to repeat everything from the start on the new source. Again, if you have separate folders for your drivers and/or add-ons, it will integrate them from the same place as before, because it is also written down in Last Session.ini.

I'll re-copy everything & try again.
nigh Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I've started again with fresh files & this time all was OK so I have my slipstream disk. Now to see if I can load it on the PC.Thanks for the help.
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Sure, no problem. Report back on your success or possible problems.Enjoy
