I've been putting together a WDS setup for my department and I'm almost there except I keep getting locale/user/timezone prompts during the install of Windows 7. The main install finishes fine, then after updating settings/drivers etc. it reboots again and then the prompts are coming up.

Despite trying all different combinations I can think of I still keep getting the prompts. I've also tried using DISM to change the locales in the wim file but they're still appearing. I've looked everywhere I can to find an answer to this but to no avail.

Any help that people can give would be most appreciated as I've hit a brick wall...

Have you tried filling or completely deleting <UILanguageFallback></UILanguageFallback> from your xml?

I just tried that, putting en-GB in there and also removing it altogether and I'm still getting the same result. :(

Don't leave blank values like <UILanguageFallback></UILanguageFallback> just remove.

If you have a floppy or usb drive then you can add this cmd file and when it crashes hit Shift+F10 and it opens cmd prompt

Run this file and it will copy the setupact.log

You can then use to sort your problem most likely.

CopyLog.cmd

cd /d %~dp0
@ECHO OFF
robocopy %systemroot%\Panther\setupact.log /MIR %~dp0setupact.log
robocopy %WINDIR%\Setup\State\State.ini /MIR %~dp0State.ini
ECHO.
Pause
Exit

mine went all the way and was just 1.01mb so will fit on floppy

I'm still not having any luck with this, I've attached the setupact.log in the hope that someone can work this out...

Thanks

from your log it only shows en-us as only language in there

IBS CallBack_LanguagePack_Install:This is either a cross-architecture install, an assembled build or setup is running WDS, and no LPs were requested to be installed. Not installing any language packs.

IBS CallBack_LanguagePack_Install:This is either a cross-architecture install, an assembled build or setup is running WDS, and no LPs were requested to be installed. Not installing any language packs.

This setup is being run from WDS using a wim from our volume licence copy of Windows 7 Enterprise x86.

The language I need is en-GB, which from my understanding isn't downloadable as a separate language pack. It is accessible from SIM though in the Packages section of my wim but adding it into my autounattend doesn't seem to make any difference.

    <servicing>

<package action="configure" permanence="permanent">

<assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-LocalPack-GB-Package" version="6.1.7600.16385" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="" />

<selection name="LocalPack-GB" state="true" />

</package>

</servicing>

I'm obviously overlooking something somewhere but I can't figure out what as if I apply the same unattend actions to installing from a disc the whole thing completes fine except for naming the machine.

and MS help files are not so great, right out at end of your <assemblyIdentity line "" /> is a blank space. Need to remove that, Sim does that and things get corrupt.
