SATA Raid drivers for WinXP installation on PT8 Neo-V motherboard

Hi there,

I have a PT8 NEO-V motherboard from MSI, currently running WinXP on a classic IDE PATA drive (which I want to put away), I have 2 other SATA drives with some partitions installed correctly.

My goal is to install WinXP on one of the SATA drives, to one spesific partition.

I dowloaded the latest RAID drivers from the MSI web, integrated them to a install CD via nLite, but when I boot from the CD, the installation doesn't recognize any of the SATA drives.

In BIOS it doesn't seem to give any options such as: Native SATA, AHCI. Just the enable/disable SATA is there.

I don't have a floppy drive.

Any idea why the nLited CD doesn't work?

(maybe upgrading the BIOS could help... :( )

THNX 4 any reply

Do you have RAID options in your Bios?

Anyway, either you want RAID or install to one drive, not both(??).

What is the difference between these two (from you Last_Session.ini)?

VIARaid\DRIVER\Raid\winxp\VIAMRAID.INF,0

VIARAID_OM74\DriverDisk\RAID\Winxp\VIAMRAID.INF,0

From what I know and have seen, it's desirable to include one SATA/RAID driver in TXT mode. Since you also included AGP and IDE drivers, it could be that you simply put all in PnP mode.

osi, you have included no text mode drivers. You need a driver with a txtsetup.oem file. I cannot tell what kind of chip set you have but Fernando 1 (the driver expert here) has a couple of sticky posts at the top that may have the drivers you need for RAID and/or AHCI text mode. Enjoy, John.

@ osi:

If your SATA hdd's are running in RAID mode, you should download the small VIA RAID driver package, which I have prepared for the XP CD integration. You can get it >here<.

Just unzip and integrate it as textmode driver.

Good luck!
