HardDriv'n Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 I was wondering... Is there an application that could be run from a hard/flash drive that would remove all registry entries made while it was active, when it is it closed or shutdown?
MrJinje Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Not exactly a registry based tool, but I compile applications for portable use with ThinApp. It creates a virtual registry and all changes the app makes occur only in the virtual registry. Xenocode works kinda like ThinApp where you package your application and settings. It creates a "portable" application that leaves no settings behind.
jaclaz Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Wouldn't, more simply ERUNT do?You make a copy of the Registry on the stick, you do whatever you want to do and you restore the Registry copy when leaving.ERUNT:http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/If you want to remove some common changes (and the traces of your USB stick too), you can use this:Clean after mehttp://www.nirsoft.net/utils/clean_after_me.htmljaclaz
