Can't type during installation

Hey everyone,

Last week I rebooted my whole system (Windows XP Home edition on Acer Aspire One netbook). Since then I was unable to type anything during several installations (Photoshop, Football Manager) but I also can't type anything when I want to set a password for my account in the control panel. For some reason I just can't get into the text box..

Anyone got a clue how to fix this without having to reboot it all?

What kind of keyboard? Try using a different type maybe?

Can you click in the associated text boxes and you see a cursr there or do you get no blinking cursor at all?
