etopro
Is it possible to disable or uninstall WGA? I'm suspicious of it.
iamtheky
Is it difficult to not google, Ive never tried?http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/g...64-da8398b706f9and your suspicions are probably well founded since microsoft KBs are rarely scrutinized by the community and usually involve little documentation. Guest
I doesn't appear to me that he's asking how to circumvent it. I guess a mod needs to weigh in.
iamtheky
I like that thread because the WGA Forum Program Manager refers to it as"an opt-in program..." that "Once installed, WGA Notifications becomes a permanent part of Windows XP software, and therefore cannot be uninstalled."rather than just saying, that building an uninstaller for the code that verifies legitimacy would be borderline retarded. Tripredacus
That is correct. If you feel that any of our rules are not specific enough, make a post about it here:http://www.msfn.org/board/site-forum-issues-f23.htmlThere is only 1 legit way to run a system without WGA installed, which is to not get any Windows Updates. The risk is yours. If it is already installed on your computer, you have to live with it. Either way, you won't get any help on how to remove it from us on MSFN, as it is (as noted) against the rules.
