But why not making a Recovery Console on USB stick?JFYY:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/?showtopic=2254http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=8785Easiest would be following this advice:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?...c=8785&st=6jaclaz
strel Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I suppose you can't or don't want to boot from HD so that you boot an external media to run it. You may have the USB option. Not sure if it is possible through network but as long as you could boot a PXE image I imagine you'll may be able, as if you were booting from a media.
tech_boy Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 Its not a problem to go and get a USB CD-Rom drive and run chkdsk that way, I was just hoping that I could use the LAN. Never mind ay, maybe the lovely(!) people at Microsoft or somewhere will someday help us out! Thanks for your replies!

Actually I suggested a USB stick, or flash drive or pen drive, you can use an old 32 or 64 Mb one, if you can still find one, or buy a 512 Mb or 1 Gb one for a few bucks. The PXE way is absolutely valid , though setting up a PXE/TFTP server and troubleshooting it may prove to be a looong path to take. jaclaz
