September 2, 200916 yr The easiest way to optimize the boot of Windows is to use MSCONFIG. Go to the Startup tab and uncheck everything you don't want to start. I have not used Bootvis so I can't help you with that. Basically, anything you can disable to start won't affect the core Windows in most programs, also CCleaner can do this. There are some things that always come back like QuickTime if you have it installed... My computer boots to only 20 processes. For average users, sticking below 30 processes would be your goal. You can check them in Task Manager, but remember to subtract the Taskmgr.exe process from the total.
