BogdanV Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Quite a rarity I think, considering the low production numbers it had. Anyway, I'm atempting to bring this grandpa to a useful state (replace battery, fit a new HDD, etc) and while studying it, this jack came to my attention : It looks like a DVI jack but it sure isn't. Anyway, from the scraps of documentation I've found on the net, the laptop should be having a video-out connector. That would be really cool as staring into a monochrome LCD takes away what little fun there still is in the likes of DOOM I. Does anyone recognise this connector type and tell me what its for ? Thanks.

BogdanV Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 ) And thats ownage to me! Well, I don't know if I've been smoking pot or something, but honestly I've been searching for the past time and I couldn't find anything about this jack. Actually, anything about any of the laptop's jacks. I'm not the kind of guy to quickly post in a forum for plain simple questions as I don't have the patience to wait for a reply, but this time I got owned. Anyway, guess that jack's for the docking station judging from the pin assignments, so this gives me two options : 1.Either I make a adaptor for just the video pins OR 2.Find a docking station. (which is preferable, but not so likely to happen as ebay doesn't seem to have one and amazon, if I remember, doesn't work for my country) Alas, thanks for the links, I'll bookmark them !

I'll give you another tip, see if the misterious connector has a "proper" name:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?...ic=8706&hl=it does look like a LFH60, but cannot say. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low_Force_HelixMatrox cables appear to be differently mapped:http://pinouts.ru/VideoCables/matrox_lfh60_pinout.shtmlbut maybe you can find and adapt some "surplus" cable... jaclaz
