Domain Security Policy

Recommended Posts

Hi, ive got a domain controller, running Server 2003, all was good, GPO, Security Policys, Software Policies, all being downloaded, and applied to all clients, now i've just bought a Dell Poweredge 2550, and installed, Server 2000 on it, and got it hooked up to the domain, as a File Server, then upgraded to Server 2003 R2. Now, since the upgrade, none of the clients, Not even the Domain Controller, are getting the security settings. Don't know whats happenened. Also, im getting Errors in the Event Viewer of the Clients, some of the errors are:

This happens on Most Logons,

The system failed to update and remove host (A) resource records (RRs) for network adapter

with settings:

Adapter Name : {EB77169C-2DC6-409E-903F-741F36908BF8}

Host Name : emachines

Primary Domain Suffix : giveago.net

DNS server list :

192.168.1.2

Sent update to server : 192.1.1.1

IP Address(es) :

192.168.1.11

The reason the update request failed was because of a system problem. For specific error code, see the record data displayed below.

Should i be concerned by this?

and there is this one:

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 00234D97078B. The following error occurred:

The operation was canceled by the user. . Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Don't really know whats happened, Thanks for your help guys!

There are no error logs for the DHCP Server, everything seems to be running fine, it appears to be clients with Wired, and Wifi access, because sometimes WiFi is easier so that will be used and vice versa, All of the Wired only clients seem fine, but ive demoted the DC down to a standalone server, and instead of using windows Wizards i manually set it all up.

DHCP First, then DNS, then AD, and so far so good, everything seems to be working, apart from Software Packages, always says the Path is not valid or not enough permissions, when there are, so not sure what that is.

Thanks for your reply to :)
