This may sound a bit odd. I have more than ten years of experience in troubleshooting computers, from the days when Windows 3.1 was launched newly. Though I take pride in dealing with most of the Windows XP and prev versions' problems, I still do not know about the nLite.

The Google search shows it as a tool that helps you reduce the load of XP on your computer. Is it an OS or kind of modifier to OS so that one may use XP on low end systems or to speed up systems.

Can anyone clarify the above doubts and also tell me some benefits of using nLite?

I think this sums it up pretty well: http://nliteos.com/nlite.html, but it is NOT an OS, just a tool to modify your OS (i.e., 2000, XP, and Server 2003).

And yes, by removing components, you *might* be able to get XP running on an older/slower system.

Basically, nLite can integrate service packs, post service pack update packs (like Xable's, RyanVM's, RedXII and OnePiece), strip Windows components (and thus reduce size, and sometimes increase speed), integrate stand-alone hotfixes, drivers, and other (nLite) program add-ons, manage services, and apply predefined service settings, registry adjustments and miscellaneous other tweaks.
