nitroshift Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Hello and welcome to THE forums! Could you post the lastsession.ini from your vlite disk? It seems that you removed some files necessary for the upgrade.

nitroshift Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 From what I see, there is NO reason on earth to use vLite to remove only a few things... What happens if you install a clean SP1 Vista then run SP2 installer?
Amajed Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 Thanks for ur reply I used vlite for a few things,1- to slipstream SP1.2- to Intgrate Chipset, VGA, RAID and sound drivers.3- To minimize the size to less than 4GB to copy the installtion files to a 4GB USB flash memory.4- to make an unattended Windows installtion.these are the reasons why I used vlite,if u r asking for a full last session copy then there it is :===========================; vLite preset file;;#Environment:; vLite v1.2; Framework 2.0.50727.1434; Microsoft Windows NT 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 64-bit;;#Target:; Windows Vista ULTIMATE 64-bit i; Version 6.0.6001.18000 English (United States); vLited with v1.2 (6/16/2009 3:04:10 AM);[Compatibility][CustomHide][Components];# Accessories #Speech Support;# Drivers #Printers-ApolloPrinters-BrotherPrinters-CanonPrinters-CitizenPrinters-DellPrinters-DiconixPrinters-EpsonPrinters-Fuji XeroxPrinters-FujitsuPrinters-Generic printerPrinters-GestetnerPrinters-HPPrinters-IBMPrinters-InfotecPrinters-KonicaPrinters-Konica MinoltaPrinters-Kyocera MitaPrinters-LanierPrinters-LexmarkPrinters-MinoltaPrinters-Minolta-QMSPrinters-NECPrinters-NRGPrinters-OcePrinters-OkiPrinters-OkidataPrinters-OlivettiPrinters-PanasonicPrinters-QMSPrinters-RicohPrinters-SamsungPrinters-SavinPrinters-SeikoshaPrinters-SharpPrinters-SonyPrinters-StarPrinters-TallyPrinters-TektronixPrinters-Wipro ePeripheralsPrinters-Xerox;# System #Natural LanguageTablet PC[Options]DEP (Data Execution Prevention) = DefaultUser Account Control (UAC) = EnabledAntiSpyware Realtime Protection = DefaultAutoPlay = EnabledPaging Executive = EnabledPower scheme = BalancedPower button = DefaultSleep button = DefaultHibernation = DefaultControl Panel - Classic View = DefaultShow hidden files and folders = NoShow protected operating system files = NoShow extensions for known file types = NoIE Phishing Filter = DefaultIE Phishing Verification Ballon Tips = Default[services][Protection][Drivers]C:\Drivers\15.25_nforce_winvista64_international_whql\Awy\nvAwy64.infC:\Drivers\15.25_nforce_winvista64_international_whql\Ethernet\nvfd6064.infC:\Drivers\15.25_nforce_winvista64_international_whql\IDE\WinVista64\sataraid\nvrd64.infC:\Drivers\15.25_nforce_winvista64_international_whql\IDE\WinVista64\sata_ide\nvstor64.infC:\Drivers\15.25_nforce_winvista64_international_whql\SMBus\nf4sys.infC:\Drivers\15.25_nforce_winvista64_international_whql\SMU\smuc64.infC:\Drivers\185.85_desktop_winvista_64bit_english_whql\nv_disp.infC:\Drivers\Vista_Win7_R226\Vista64\HDX.inf[unattended]SpecRegionalAcceptEULASkipNewUserSkipAutoActivationNetworkLoc = 1[Hotfixes][LanguagePacks]===========================this is the full last session file, I usauly change some options and some tweaks but in this copy I didnt.please help me get over this problem, the last thing I want to do is to reinstall a fresh Windows from the DVD directly without any SP's intgrated and then install them manully SP1 then SP2, this is a really a very long road, if there are any better ways please tell me .Thanks again for the replys
MagicAndre1981 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 you can't install Sp2 if you remove at least 1 component from Vista!Read the sticky about Sp2 slipstreaming and make your own Sp2 Image and use this Install.wim as surce for using it with vLite!

MagicAndre1981 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 there are 3 links posted how to do the reverse integration method. Those guides say Sp1 but it also applies to Sp2.

If you already have an original Vista DVD, there is no need to get an MSDN subscription. Just slipstream SP1 with vLite and THEN slipstream SP2 using the reverse integration method mentioned in the topic. If you don't want to bother with the reverse integration method, slipstream SP1 using vLite without removing anything, install it on your PC, and then install SP2.
MagicAndre1981 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Just slipstream SP1 with vLite and THEN slipstream SP2 using the reverse integration method mentioned in the topic.some people tried this on a german board and it fails when doing sysprep with a MSDTC error. using the Audit mode to install first Sp1 and Sp2 seams to work.

You better correct me in the other topic then, or else people are going to start yelling at me.
Amajed Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 Hmmmm ok thank you guys very much , I'm going for a copy of windows vista SP1 then install a SP2 manually (ofc without removing any components)I guess I'll need to solve the 4GB ISO problem first :/ (ISO Image over 4GB)Thank you very much
cluberti Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 If you use a USB key to install, and it's formatted FAT32, there doesn't appear to be a size limit to how large your source can be - it's only a problem for creating an ISO.
Leon S. Kennedy Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I haven't installed SP2 until;I had installed version 6000, then update SP1, and then update SP2.Version 6001 that has been integrated update SP1 by using vLite, will not work during install update SP2.
