hello, plese help me. I am trying to install the driver for my broadcom controller. I get this error message "The Windows Installer Service could not be accesed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance." I am not running it in safe mode. My computer has just been restored to factory settings with the boot cd's... any help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

What version of windows installer do you have? You might want to just try updating the driver from Device Manager and pointing it to the INF file on the CD. That's typically how I install NIC drivers.
